Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides straightforward and simple techniques for home cooks. The chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has explored Italy's cuisine and the culture of Italy, and the surrounding environment. Early on, while growing up in New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute during my time in The Culinary Institute of America she states. I was never able to be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduation, chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an understanding of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children who face problems. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes education about juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher Burrell travels throughout the U.S. to share her culinary passion and professional career.
