As a Pennsylvania born, Kolber received her graduate diploma from her alma mater, the University of Miami. She started her professional career as a coordinator of video for CBS Sports in New York City. She was awarded an award for a Local Sports Emmy during her tenure with WTVJ-TV which is located in Miami. Other jobs she held included WPLG-TV Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach.
